What Does a Doula Do?

Postpartum care can look many different ways. Some of my services may include:

Household help

Cooking nourishing meals

Childcare for older siblings

Emotional and mental health support

Newborn care (swaddling, soothing, safe sleep rhythms, etc)

Infant feeding assistance

Physical recovery support for moms

Errands or help with appointments

Referrals and trusted resources

While postpartum doulas can not provide medical or clinical care, we are trained to recognize when that care is needed and to help with coordinating it. We have extensive knowledge of evidence-based infant care and are happy to help you make informed decisions of your own.

Postpartum doulas are a neutral, non-judgmental helper in your home. Our role is to create a calm, safe space where parents can settle in gently to a beautiful "golden beginning" with their baby.
